Agustina Nieto
Agustina is Nauta's Legal & Tax Controller, based in Barcelona. As a member of the Operations team, she is responsible for the legal and tax matters of the Funds and the Management Company. She ensures the accomplishment of the anti-money laundering regulations, manages the communication with regulatory entities (CNMV in Spain, FCA in the UK), coordinates the legal and tax aspects of capital calls and divestments processes, and leads negotiation/communication with investors.
Prior to Nauta Capital, Agustina worked for four years as a lawyer in different international companies and firms, Scytl and BDO, in areas such as public, civil and commercial law. She holds a Bachelor in Law from Pompeu Fabra University and pertains to the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB).

Alexander Krespi
Alex joined Nauta’s London investment team in 2024.
Prior to Nauta, Alex worked at the q-commerce scale-up getir, where he helped the business expand across Europe and grow from Series A to D. At getir, Alex worked in Strategy & Operations: focussing on performance systems, cost optimisation and two post-merger integrations.
Alex holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Oxford.

Ana Fernandez
Ana joined Nauta’s London investment team in 2023.
Prior to Nauta, Ana was an Associate in Equity Research at Goldman Sachs, where she spent 3 years. Within the Retail team, she covered major listed food retailers and food delivery players, including Tesco, Carrefour, Ocado, Deliveroo and Delivery Hero.
Ana holds a Masters in Chemistry (MChem) from the University of Oxford.

Andrea Oliver
Andrea is an Investment Manager in Nauta's Barcelona office. She rejoined Nauta in 2023 to work across the entire investment process and portfolio management.
Previously, Andrea worked as an Investment Associate at Nauta from 2016 to 2018, during which she contributed to investments in Lodgify, Holded, Landbot, and Onna. She later left Nauta to found Emjoy, a female well-being app that was part of Nauta's portfolio from 2019 to 2023.
She brings with her significant operational experience, having led a team of 20 people, scaled Emjoy to €40k in monthly revenue, developed a product used by 500k women, and secured €3.5m in venture funding. Andrea is also a Forbes 30 under 30 honoree in the European Technology category from 2021.
Andrea holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from ESADE Business School and started her career at Dawn Capital.

Anna Daviau
Anna is a Partner at Nauta’s Barcelona office. As part of her role, Anna oversees the Operations team which are in charge of the investment and divestment transactions and give financial and legal support to the portfolio companies.
Additionally, Anna actively participates in the financial planning of the Group, as well as fundraising, investor relations, relationship with regulators (CNMV in Spain) and in the adoption of several measures to prevent money laundering.
Prior to Nauta, Anna worked for more than three years at Ernst & Young in the Transaction Advisory Services Department, in Paris. As a senior analyst, she carried out financial due diligence of mid-cap and small-cap companies for private-equity, venture capital and corporate clients.
Anna graduated from ESSEC Business School Paris with a Master of Science in Management and a specialisation in corporate finance.

Borja Breña
Borja Breña is a Partner in Nauta’s Barcelona office focused on Spanish and Portuguese opportunities.
Borja is recognised as a venture capital investor with international experience in finance, technology, and innovation. Prior to joining Nauta in 2018, he was a senior investment manager at Telefónica’s corporate venture capital fund. Previously, Borja worked at Kennet Partners, at Barclays Capital as an analyst in the credit trading desk, and as a business consultant at Deloitte UK and Deloitte Spain.
Borja holds an MBA from London Business School, graduated as a Telecommunications Engineer from Seville University (Spain) and is an Associate Chartered Accountant of the ICAEW (UK). He currently resides in Madrid.

Carles Ferrer
Carles Ferrer Roqueta is a General Partner at Nauta and is based in London. Carles has extensive Venture Capital experience, having raised, managed and exited different VC funds since 2000. Carles’ areas of interest include Security, SaaS, Marketing/Social Analytics/Intelligence, and Critical data-driven companies.
His previous experience includes managing positions in corporate strategy and planning/finance divisions with blue chip companies in the telecommunications, defence/SW/auto spaces, as well as financial services such as TRW (acquired by Northrop Grumman), Auna Group/Retevision (acquired by France Telecom and ONO), and Ernst & Young.
Carles holds a Business Administration degree from the University of Barcelona, a graduate degree in Administration and Management from Harvard University, and an MBA from SDA Bocconi.

Daniel Sanchez
Daniel Sanchez is a General Partner at Nauta and is based in Barcelona.
He is the Operations Partner at Nauta, taking responsibility for finance, operations (M&A), internal management and special situations.
He has served at the Board of several portfolio companies and has been directly involved in the sale of several portfolio companies including Privalia and Social Point.
Daniel has been a member of the Board of Directors at the European Venture Capital Association (today InvestEurope). He was also a member of the board at Ascri, the Spanish VC&PE association.
Before co-founding Nauta, he acquired broad experience in M&A as well as in the management of consumer electronics firms.
For 10 years, he was also a M&A consultant at Alpha Corporate (a firm that currently belongs to Deloitte & Touche), where he provided consultancy services to multinationals on mergers, acquisitions and strategy. Following that, he was Deputy Managing Director of Taurus, a consumer electronics firm engaged in small electrical appliances.
He has worked as an assistant professor and collaborator at ESADE in the areas of Finance and Internationalisation of companies.
Daniel holds a degree in Business Sciences and an MBA from ESADE as well as an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Glen Albo
Glen is the M&A Finance Associate at Nauta, based in Barcelona. He is in charge of the M&A process in investment transactions and the financial follow-up of the portfolio. He also provides financial and operational assistance to the companies and their CFOs. As a member of the Operations team, he is involved in portfolio management and valuation, as well as in communication to investors.
Prior to joining Nauta, Glen worked in financial controlling in the education sector. Before that, he had been a part of the operations team at Nauta as an intern.
Glen holds a Master in Finance from ESADE Business School and a degree in Biotechnology as well as a Master in Neuroscience from the University of Barcelona.

João Pedro Espadanal
João joined Nauta in 2024 as the driving force behind our Machine Learning and Data Science initiatives. He leads the development of advanced internal tools that enhance our investment strategies, seamlessly integrating backend processes—from data sourcing and engineering to statistical analysis—with intuitive frontend solutions.
João has previously worked as a Machine Learning Scientist at Expedia where he played a pivotal role in the data science and revenue optimization team. His work spanned the development of sophisticated machine learning models for B2B demand forecasting, pricing strategies, and ranking algorithms.
Earlier in his career, João was a Senior Researcher at CERN, contributing to groundbreaking fixed target experiments. His work involved pioneering research in anti-matter (AD facility and GBAR), neutron studies (nTOF), and the CERN expansion projects (BDF facility and SHIP). In these roles, he led the development of complex physics simulations, managed the analysis of vast datasets, and used a wide range of programming languages and software. His research in cosmic ray physics, particularly in the simulation of cosmic rays and muon interactions, further underscores his deep expertise in high-energy physics.
João holds a PhD in Particle Physics from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, where he contributed to the Pierre Auger Observatory.

Jordi Viñas
Jordi was a founding partner of Cluster Consulting in 1993 and in 2000 became VP of DiamondCluster International for South Europe, as well as a member of the Worldwide Operating Committee. He has provided advice to telecommunications companies for over 15 years.
Before 1993, Jordi worked as a telecoms consultant both for Gemini Consulting and The Monitor Company.
As an investor for the last few years, Jordi has been involved in the areas of communications infrastructure, telco-focused enterprise software, mobile commerce, advertising technology and digital media. Jordi has led investment projects in the US, UK, Ireland, and Spain.
Jordi holds a degree in Business Sciences, an MBA from ESADE, and a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona.
Jordi currently serves on the Investment Committee of Spinnaker, a VC fund that specialises in the media sector.

Júlia Olivares
Júlia is the Office Manager/EA for the Barcelona Office since joining Nauta in October 2023.
With a background in office administration, she organises and manages administration duties and office procedures. She works with Nauta’s Partners and supports the Operations, Investment and Marketing teams with their daily tasks.
Previously, she worked as a Community Coordinator and Builder in a co-working start-up company, as an Admissions Counselor at a Business School, and as a Receptionist and Sales Person at a Hotel that was part of a major Hospitality Group.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Tourism from University of Girona, Spain.

Lluís Codina
Lluís is an Operations Associate based in Barcelona.
As a member of the Operations team, he is involved in the investment and divestment activities of portfolio companies. Lluís also offers both financial and operational support to the companies and their CFOs. Additionally, he assists in portfolio management, valuation, and communications with investors.
Before joining Nauta, Lluís worked in financial consulting for startups, serving as an external CFO, where he supported daily financial operations, strategic planning, and fundraising processes.
His educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from UPC and a degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona.

Marta Parunella
Marta is Nauta’s Finance Manager, based in Barcelona.
As a member of the Operations team, she participates in the investment and divestment transactions of the portfolio companies and oversees its financial follow-up. She also provides financial assistance to their CFOs and is involved in portfolio management and valuation, as well as in communication to investors.
Prior to Nauta Capital, Marta worked for three years as a lawyer in the mercantile department of Garrigues SLP and for more than six years as CFO and financial advisor of several start-ups in different growth stages and market sectors.
She holds bachelor’s in law and in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University.

Pepe Ferrándiz
Pepe joined Nauta as an Investment Associate in the Barcelona office, where he plays a vital role in the entire investment process.
Before joining Nauta, Pepe was among the earliest team members at Heroes, a London-based start-up, where he played a pivotal role for over three years in the Investments team as the company scaled to over 100 employees. His responsibilities included leading and contributing to the acquisition and integration of multiple companies in the E-commerce & Consumer sector, with a primary focus on sourcing opportunities, valuation, and Due Diligence.
Prior to this, Pepe began his career gaining valuable experience in Investment Banking at Lazard and Greenhill.
Pepe holds a Masters in Management from HEC Paris and is an Industrial Engineer from UPC.

Pratima Aiyagari
Pratima is a Partner at Nauta and is based in London. At Nauta, Pratima focuses on enterprise software and deep tech domains.
Pratima has 18+ years of professional experience. She is a software developer by background and spent several years in Silicon Valley working on developing intelligent network services in the network management domain. Pratima joins Nauta from US-based cybersecurity-focused investment firm Paladin Capital. Previously, Pratima led investments and acquisitions at Cisco Corporate Development in Europe with a specific focus on ML/AI, Enterprise Collaboration and Silicon. During her investment career, Pratima led an investment or held board seats in Aimotive, Adbrain, Evrythng, Secure Code Warrior, decentriq, Dashbird and several fund investments. She also managed investments in several companies including Behaviosec, Italtel, ip.access and Corvil.
Pratima received her MBA from INSEAD in France and an MS in computer science from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in the US. Pratima is a co-author of a US patent in the area of network device clusters and high availability.

Rita Fernandes
Rita is the Office Manager/EA for the London Office since joining Nauta in October 2022.
With a background in office administration, she organises and manages administration duties and office procedures, she works with Nauta’s Partners and supports the Investment and Marketing teams with their daily tasks.
Previously, she worked as a Team Assistant in a private equity firm, as a Corporate Receptionist in various financial sector companies, and as an Administrative Assistant/Manager in a family office for a Middle Eastern Royal Family.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Tourism from University of Azores, Portugal and an Executive Assistant Diploma from Souters Training in London.

Ryan Procter
Ryan is Head of Marketing & Communications and based in Nauta's London office. He joined in 2024 to oversee brand building, support investor relations and add value to the portfolio through Nauta's Platform Strategy.
Ryan joined Nauta 10 years of experience in the startup ecosystem with VC firms and with crucial startup experience at Evolution AI and YellowDog. He first joined the ecosystem at Tech Nation, leading on marketing for the organisation tasked with growing the UK's technology sector.
Following his time at Tech Nation, he joined ADV (UK venture capital firm) as one of the first employees to launch the first fund. His role later grew into portfolio support with hands-on experience working with companies such as Urban, Current Health, Perlego and Onto.
In 2021, after six months working with Evolution AI to launch a new product, Ryan joined Bloc Ventures as Head of Marketing. Bloc is a deep tech VC firm active across Europe and Israel and Ryan spent three and a half years at Bloc, including over 18 months seconded part-time as Head of Marketing for portfolio company YellowDog.ai.

Stella Buhalis
Stella rejoined the investment team in London in 2024 as an Associate. Her previous work as an Analyst at the fund led to sourcing our portfolio company Spotted Zebra.
Prior to Nauta, Stella operated at Gaia, backed by Atomico, at the intersection of FinTech and Healthcare. She worked with the Operations team to run, report and automate risk assessments, payments processes and product testing. She also supported Gaia’s US launch through strategic research on their employer go-to-market approach.
Stella holds an Integrated Masters in Mathematics with Economics from University College London. Her Masters thesis applied differential equation models to evaluate optimal Covid-19 vaccine distribution strategies in collaboration with the Clinical Operational Research Unit.
She seeks founders who are relentless problem solvers, leading and growing exceptionally strong teams to bring their vision to life. Her interests lie in FinTech & InsureTech, Future of Work, Healthcare and RevOps.

Theo Wethered
Theo is a Principal in Nauta's London office. He works across the entire investment process from thematic research and meeting founders through to representing the fund on portfolio company boards. The businesses he works with most closely are AppFollow, Trustshare, HappySignals, Hullabalook, Techspert.io and Spotted Zebra.
Theo has previously worked in a number of startups (incl. Loop Horizon and SimPrints), Venture Capital (Molten Ventures), Strategy and M&A consulting (L.E.K. consulting, including work with the company’s Data & Analytics team building and using internal technical products) and founding a micro-business.
His interests lie in AI, the use and management of data, Fintech & InsurTech, supply chain technologies, Web3 and cryptocurrencies. He holds a Natural Sciences degree from the University of Cambridge.
